Description
The Sikkens Polykit Classic is a two-component polyester bodyfiller designed to fill deep dents and surface irregularities on automotive and metal substrates. It mixes easily, delivers great filling properties, and creates a durable foundation before painting.
Technical Specifications & Use
- Type: Two-pack polyester putty/bodyfiller (2K) requiring a hardener.
- Suitable Substrates: Steel, zinc-coated/galvanized steel, aluminum, and polyester laminates.
- Mixing Ratio: Typically 100 parts filler to 2–3 parts hardener.
- Application Time: 4–6 minutes at 70°F (20°C).
- Drying/Curing Time: 20–25 minutes at 70°F (20°C) before sanding.
Sanding & Finishing Steps
- Initial/Final Sanding for Bodyfiller: P180 – P220.
- Featheredge Sanding: P320 – P400.
- Recoatability: Can be recoated with standard Sikkens preparatory products (excluding waterborne products directly on the uncured filler).
