Bamson Company Limited was incorporated in 1980 with a vision to provide Ghana with world-class paint solutions. In 1983, the company began distributing Sikkens products, and in 1986 was appointed the exclusive distributor and representative of Sikkens Automotive Refinishes in Ghana.

Over the decades, Bamson has evolved into one of Ghana’s leading business groups, combining premium products with technical expertise, professional training and outstanding customer service.

Leadership

Bamson Company Limited is wholly Ghanaian-owned and was founded by Mr. Kwame Ofosu Bamfo, whose vision and leadership have shaped the company into one of Ghana's most respected brands.

Social Investments

The company has contributed immensely towards development of sports in the country in the areas of football and tennis. The company has also been making cash donations to individuals, especially to medical students on practical attachments outside the country, institutions and non-governmental organizations. It has also assisted in construction of JSS Buildings, Hospitals and SOS villages. The most recent of the company’s social services is the Sikkens Educational Trust Fund, established in April 2002. The trust offers financial assistance to needy but brilliant students in the Kwahu area including Afram Plains. In its maiden presentation, the Trust awarded scholarship to 837 JSH and SHS students in the Kwahu Districts.

Achievements

The company has achieved lots of honours both at local and international levels. Among such awards is a Special Marketing Award by Ghana Institute of Marketing in 1990. Then in 1991 and 1992, the company won the marketing oriented Organization Award in Ghana while the Managing Director, Mr. Kwame Ofosu Bamfo was elected as the Marketing Personality of the year – 1992. In 1996, the company received the Head of State Good Corporate Citizen Award in the area of General Trading. Bamson is a member of the Ghana Club 100.

Internationally, Bamson was honoured with an award in recognition of its outstanding sales performance in 1990 and in 1993 a Leadership Awards for Best Sales Performance. Bamson has had a leadership contract with AKZO Sikkens, UK for the importation of domestic paints in the paints industry in the country.

It has also set up two subsidiary companies – Glostal Aluminium Systems Limited, which specializes in the production and installation of aluminium doors and windows. Glostal also handles the installation of Cape Ceilings. The second subsidiary company is Alisa Hotel Limited with staff strength of about 300.
